Well thank you kindly. It's good to see that the first comment on this piece is from a female TF fan. Since joining deviant art, I've been amazed at how many Transformers: Animated fans are women. I don't remember any girls liking TF back in '84 when I first started playing with 'em.

& I'm glad you liked the use of Peter Gabriel lyrics. Thank you Cameron Crowe & John Cusack, for giving me a joke to use in a Transformers drawing.

I wish I had discovered the series back in '84, as I would have liked it... (I watched stuff like Voltron and GoBots when I was a kid.) But I didn't get to get into TF until the '07 Movie came out.

Though I will say that, I find that I'm one of the few fangirls I know that's even old enough to have watched the original series.

And I looked up the reference in question and started giggling madly. That makes it even better.

Wait a minute...you didn't realize that I was doing a take off of "Say Anything"? HA! That's pretty funny. Well I'm glad you got it now and enjoyed the pic more. I never even watched the movie all the way through (an ex of mine really loved it, I never could stomach it), it's just that one scene is kinda iconic & seemed perfect for my piece.

And I also spent time numbing my youthful brain to Voltron & the GoBots, but the Transformers were always my favorite giant animated robots that were used as marketing tools to sell toys to us unsuspecting, innocent children.

Yes, my movie fu is sadly lacking. :> I just thought it was a cute concept in general.

I'm not sure how I missed out on Transformers... but I suppose it's just as well, as it means it's something I enjoy now, as opposed to just one of the many fond but otherwise-not-dwelt-on memories of my childhood.

That is pretty amazing that you missed out on the TF back in the 80's, cause those F'n things were EVERYWHERE. I had a pretty formidable collection once upon a time. Some of 'em may still be in storage, I dunno.

I do think that it's cool that the '07 movie turned you on to them. Does that mean you've gone & watched the original cartoons now? Or have seen the '86 animated movie? I read your review of Revenge of the Fallen, & it was a pretty good assessment. When it came to big honkin' robots kicking the crap out of each other and blowing things up, none of us fans can be disappointed. But it's a hugely flawed movie. But, if I want to watch a good movie, I'll go see Moon or pop in The Fisher King. If I want to shut my brain down & just be mindlessly entertained...there's Michael Bay to help.

Pretty typical, really... I almost never discover things until they're old news to everyone else.

And yep, I've watched the original cartoon and '86 movie. And seen Animated, and read part of the Marvel comics and all of the main IDW run and Movieverse comics. And now I'm reading Shattered Glass.

Still haven't gotten to see Beast Wars yet, and don't really have any inclination to see the Japanese series.
